#45, Covid-19 and the Kingdom of God
It's 1am in the morning. I'm just wrapping up my reading for my Psych class and was overcome with extreme conviction regarding a message God gave me on last week. I could not go to sleep without sharing.
Now, I am not one who preaches "end of days, apocalyptic" messages, but usually one of hope. But, during my prayer time on last week, I was given a message, one still of hope, despite the "doomsday" media hysteria.
Many thought no good could come of 45's presidency. Many are questioning the existence of God for allowing the occurrence of the pandemic - known as the Coronavirus. But, it was/is a part of a greater plan to ignite a spiritual revival that would turn the hearts and minds of God's people back to Him. After a quite settled existence, we have grown comfortable, conforming to a life where Christ, God was an afterthought, if thought about at all. We have enjoyed a life where pursuing our happiness trumps the servicing of others and chasing our own dreams, by any means necessary, has overshadowed the habit of seeking out His instructions for our lives. We began living as our own gods by chasing our own ambitions, living according to our own views and ideologies, creating false truths/narratives, and living daily indulging in our own fleshly desires as if God doesn't exist.
But, in a post-secular nature, Christ is risen. From the current president's tyrant reign, to disasters across the globe, to the current pandemic on U.S. soil - God is working to get our attention. For the past 3-5 years, I spoke to many about the revival that would or is taking place in the kingdom. We must open our eyes to see beyond the surface into the spiritual realm. War has been declared and there is a sifting taking place. Sifting the cold/hot from the lukewarm, the wheat from the tares. God told me a few years ago that there will come a time when His people will have to walk it like they talk it. And there is no time like the present to live out the faith and in the power that we have so vocally declared for years... when things were good. And we praise Him because despite the current circumstances, things are still working for our good.
"And we know that in ALL things God works for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
We must remove the carnal aspect, that when misinterpreted leaves one believing no disasters or deaths or devastation should ever happen. But, when viewed with a kingdom mindset, disaster/devastation is a pivotal point that pushes/draws people closer to God, inciting a spiritual revival. Without turmoil, much like the people of Israel, we would fail to adhere to and seek God and His instructions, ; history will repeat itself. It is human nature to exhaust our own power first because we forget or neglect to realize that we are spiritual beings.
Coming into full knowledge of God's plan doesn't omit us from having human feelings of uncertainty, concern and fear. But, after acknowledging such feelings, we are to remember that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but power, love, and of a sound mind" (2 Tim 1:7).
What does it all mean??
This means that we must begin operating in power by speaking to the mountainous issues that are in front of us, confessing their dissolution and declaring their demise. That no weapon formed shall prosper and that we will not be touched or we shall be healed by the blood of Jesus. This means that we are to begin operating in love, checking on others, putting the needs of others in the forefront and caring for those who we are blessed to care for. This is not a time to only consider yourself, but to extend love to the needy and hope to the hopeless. This means that after we have admitted to the fear that has overcome much of our country, that we will stand firm and bring every thought captive under the authority of Christ Jesus and declare that we are more than conquerors. We are the heir to the throne and because of this, we shall obtain our inheritance according to the covenant promises of God.
So, be encouraged family. Exercise precaution, but WALK BOLDLY IN FAITH.
I pray now, in the Name of Jesus, that a hedge of protection be placed around His people. Let the blood of Jesus cover us, causing all disease, sickness, and evil plots of the enemy to passover and touch us not. I pray that this time be used to draw near, to lay before God and seek His face. To grow and develop a consistent, fervent prayer life and all purpose be revealed and activated. May the peace of God rest upon you, and His mercy be abundant. No weapon formed shall prosper, but His kingdom be edified and His Name glorified. I pray for the safety and security of those operating in our healthcare system and all others on the "front line"of our nation's pandemic and crisis. I declare now that we will begin to see a decline and dissolution of the pandemic, known as the Coronavirus. May it, and every evil attempt on the lives of God's people be sent back and bound to the fiery pits of hell. In Jesus Name, amen.
